MCALLEN- An Upper Valley man is now dead hours after he was arrested by McAllen Police early Monday morning.
According to police, they got called out to the 1900 block of South 32nd street before six Monday morning because Jose Ignacio Palomo, 37, was punching parked cars in the area. Police say he appeared to be under the influence of drugs and was trying to hurt himself by striking any surface he could find, with his hands and body.
Police arrested him and later in the morning, the man stopped breathing and he was taken to a local hospital where he died. Preliminary autopsy results conducted indicate that he died from cardiac arrest, a drug overdose is suspected.
