NUEVO LAREDO, MX- Fifty-nine inmates are on the loose Friday after they escaped a prison in Nuevo Laredo. The incident also resulted in seven people killed and five prison guards leaving their post when jail break happened.
Mexican State Government authorities say the situation is under control and a team of federal police and the Mexican army are on the hunt for those who escaped.
According to officials, 35 of the inmates who escaped are federal prisoners. The prison housed more than a thousand inmates and security will be increased at other prisons in the region.
No official word on whose behind the jail break.
