School officials in Starr County are not taking any chances with two possible cases of the swine flu have the doors to all schools in that school district shut closed for the entire week.
For the safety of all Starr county students the district has cancelled classes until Monday after two sixth graders may have contracted the swine flu. Both cases have not yet been confirmed to be swine flu and the Director for Starr County's Health Department is handling both cases.
The tests were sent to the Texas Department of State Health Services for further testing, but it could take days before we know any results. In Starr County there are 30 confirmed cases of type A influenza, but as of right now, there are no confirmed cases of swine flu in the Valley.
