During their yearly training session the McAllen Police Department recognizes several community officers and volunteers.
The Roll Call training session is a 12 hour event that's jammed packed with training topics for most of McAllen's Command Staff, but in the middle of the day, Chief Victor Rodriguez and the City of McAllen took the time to hand out several awards. One of the awards is even going to a Texas State Trooper from Waco, James Hicks, for his help in a major jewelry store robbery this year. Other awards were given out to McAllen Crime Stoppers and the McAllen Drug Enforcement Unit for their work this year.
