U.S. Border Patrol seized more than 9,000 pounds of marijuana in just four days with the largest bust happening on Thursday in Abram.
McAllen Border Patrol agents spotted two rafts with several bundles being paddled across the Rio Grande river to the United States. The bundles were quickly loaded into a truck, but when agents arrived several individuals fled back into the river leaving 1,200 pounds of marijuana. After four days of seizures the Border Patrol agency collected nearly 4.5 tons of marijuana. That amount of marijuana has a street value of $10.7 million dollars.
