HIDALGO CO.-The fight to keep our border secure continues with one Upper Valley Congressman pushing for more surveillance from above.
Congressman Henry Cuellar introduced legislation asking for a hangar to be built along the Texas border, that would house unmanned aerial systems. Right now there are four UAV's on the border, three are in Arizona and one, which is a maritime unit, is in Corpus Christi.
Cuellar says theres more than a thousand miles of border with Mexico and Texas only has one UAV to patrol our border, he says more are needed.
The bill calls for the Army, National Guard and the Air National Guard to design and construct a hangar.
The bill was passed by the House of Representatives and now moves to the Senate for consideration.
