A good Samaritan comes to the aid of a young boy after his pet birds were killed.
After someone maliciously poisoned an eight-year-old's two parakeets, a good Samaritan stepped up to help.
Wildlife rescuer Michael Orchin was shocked when he heard Adrian Torres' story.
Thursday, he asked Adrian and his grandfather to meet him at Pet Kingdom in Fort Myers, Florida.
That's where he told Adrian to pick any two birds he wanted.
The boy chose two parakeets that are almost identical to the ones that died.
"I have respect for birds, I just felt so bad when I heard about what happened to these, all I could think of is how do we get him some new birds," said Orchin.
"I'm extremely happy I just got my brand new birds," Torres said.
Torres' parakeets were killed while he and his mother were not at home.
Reports say someone broke into their lanai, picked up a can of Raid and sprayed the two birds.
