Health authorities believe the swine flu has killed as many as 60 people in Mexico and around one thousand have been infected.
It has also started to spread into the United States with reports of 8 people infected in California and Texas.
Schools, musuems, libraries and theaters were closed across Mexico City today to prevent the spread of the virus.
Concerned Residents are even wearing surgical masks to avoid the infection.
Half a million flu vaccines will be administered to health workers which are at the greatest risk of contacting the virus.
Researchers say, "Swine Flu" combines genetic material from pigs, birds, and humans in a way they've never seen before.
They are concerned it could spread quickly because people have no natural defenses for it, and turn into a pandemic.
