Astronaut Michael Fossum Heads into Space in Russian Spacecraft

Astronaut Michael Fossum, who grew up in McAllen, has blasted off into space on Tuesday.

Astronaut Fossum was on board the Russian Soyuz spacecraft with two other crew members as the blasted off to the space station on Tuesday. On board cameras pictured Fossum giving a thumbs up shortly after the launch. He'll be on board the International Space Station when the final U.S. Shuttle crew arrives sometime next month.
