With hurricane season set to begin next week, Cameron county officials are making sure that residents are prepared.
Emergency Management officials were at Brown Park reminding residents about the dangers and magnitude of devastation a hurricane can bring. They also stressed that surviving a hurricane can be much harder if a person isn't properly prepared. Coordinator Humberto Barrera reminded residents, among other things, the basics like food, water, first aid kit, gasoline and especially a plan are crucial to making it through a storm. A second public meeting is scheduled for May 31st at Cameron Park Centro Cultural building at 4 PM.
