The City of Edinburg held a meeting on Wednesday morning to inform the community about the state of the local economy.
Several city officials attended the event and spoke about the progress throughout the city. Edinburg has added over 1,000 jobs in the last six months and plan to add another thousand in the next six months. Economic developers say the city has now caught up to it's surroundings cities and the city's future looks promising. City leaders say that the creation of jobs in the community has led to a boost in spending and revenue from sales taxes is up by 17%.
