A controversial bill, regarding immigration status passed at the State House in Austin, passed by a vote of 100 to 47.
House Bill 12 was passed and the bill would allow law enforcement officers to question anyone they detain on their immigration status. The bill has to get one final approval from the House before moving on to the Senate.
