People across the Valley can properly dispose of their unused or expired prescription drugs on Saturday in order to prevent pill abuse.
It's part of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The event will be held at various H.E.B. stores across the Valley starting at 10 AM through 2 pm. Officials with the D.E.A. say more Americans abuse prescription drugs than those using cocaine and most of the drugs are obtained from family and friends. Last year about 121 tons of prescription drugs were turned over nationwide.
