Hidalgo County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a shooting Saturday night on the corner of Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter St.
Blood and tire tracks painted a grim picture for investigators but the victims were no where to be found.
Police were notified there were two men at a near by hospital. One of them didn't make it.
One of the victims had been shot in the head, the other had been shot once in each arm.
Police say the incident started off as an argument between two groups. Joaquin Barrajas Perez then fired into the crowd of people from his doorstep.
One of those bullets killed 22 year old Roberto Barrientos instantly.
Perez has no criminal history but early this morning he was charged with murder and criminal attempted murder.
Perez told the judge he felt threatened by the group and had so choice but to defend himself.
Police say they think otherwise.
Perez will remain at the Hidalgo County Detention Center on a $2 million bond.
