La Joya Police Detain Undocumented Immigrants

In another dangerous pursuit, La Joya police tracked down a mini van transporting nine illegal immigrants.

Officers chased the van for several miles on Sunday afternoon as the suspected smuggler drove against traffic. Police followed the van to a dirt road and that's when the driver fled on foot. Police say the van almost took a dive into a canal, but one of the immigrants stopped the van from tipping over into the canal.
