Border Patrol agents made a gruesome discovery at the Rio Grande river on Wednesday morning.
Agents received a call from a family member of the victim that was found. Officials report that a family member alerted authorities that his relative was swimming across the river from Mexico. When the family member didn't hear from the victim, the family panicked and called police. A canine found the body in the water near Tony Gonzales Park in Brownsville. Last year, Border Patrol recovered 26 bodies from the river, presumed to have tried to swim across.
