Several schools in McAllen could soon be closing their doors and one of the first in the district is David Crockett Elementary.
School officials say plans have been in the works since 2006 and say closing the school will save the district almost half a million dollars. According to the Assistant Superintendent the school is simply too old and they want to provide a better environment for their students. A meeting is scheduled at the school Tuesday night and on Thursday for any parents with questions or concerns.
