With the drug wars surging in Mexico, two firearms entities joined forces to stop the illegal purchasing of firearms in the Rio Grande Valley and they are kicking off a campaign called "Don't lie for the other guy". Julio Olivo reports for NewsCenter 23.
The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives has partnered with the National Shooting Sports Foundation in designing an educational program to assist firearm retailers in the detection of possible deterrence of straw purchases.
The campaign will receive funding from the Department of Justice to raise awareness on the severity of buying firearms from an unlicensed dealer.
