Police say they closed in on an auto theft ring that hit cars in Brownsville.
Three men are behind bars and police say they may be responsible for stealing at least 15 cars, Matt Fernandez has the story. George Wisdom's 2002 Wrangler that was stolen right from his driveway last week. Thieves broke into the jeep and started the Wrangler by breaking the steering column to start the motor. Police say that the men admitted to stealing 6 cars and were targeting Jeep Wranglers, Liberties, Dodge Ram's and Durango's. Police say they would steal them and sell them in Mexico.
Wisdom says he would take his Wrangler to South Padre during the summer for a two week family get together. He would ride it around on the beach with family members and his Labradors also loved riding in it. Although his Wrangler is gone, Wisdom says he's glad that the men police caught are responsible and in custody.
