The RGV Food Bank is always looking for food donations, but they were pleasantly surprised to find out they would be getting more than 36,000 pounds of chicken.
Through a partnership between HEB and Tyson Foods a large 18 wheeler delivered a huge amount of Tyson chicken to be given to the hungry throughout the Rio Grande Valley. The Food Bank is used to all types of donations, but receiving a meat donation is rare. This large amount of chicken should be able to make around 720,000 meals. HEB says this is just a small part of the help they want to bring to the community. This donation comes through Tyson's National No Hunger Campaign going on around the nation.
