A teenage boy is dead after his mother ran him over in Pharr.
It happened on West Bronze drive in Pharr and police say 14 year-old Luis Daniel Hernandez slid off the hood of his mother's car. She then accidentally ran over him and several neighbors heard the mother's cries for help and ran out to try to save the boy.
The teen was pinned under the car and he died at the scene before emergency crews could get him to the hospital. Police have tested the mother, Maria Guadalupe Rangel for substance abuse which came back clean.
Right now there are no criminal charges filed in the case and investigators are still looking into how it happened.
