Texas Governor, Rick Perry, says he has fought to secure our borders for many years. He asked The Department of Homeland Security to send 1,000 extra troops to our border towns. Now, the Obama Administration plans to send about 500 more agents and equipment to the southwestern border and México to fight Mexican drug cartels in order to keep violence from spilling over into the U.S.
“I think a presence is necessary to give people the peace of mind.”
Perry went on to say this afternoon that he's proud of Mexican president, Felipe Calderon, for standing up and being so courageous fighting against the drug cartels.
