One clinic in Brownsville is still open and seeing patients after confirming 13 potential swine flu cases.
The Escobedo Clinic closed its doors at 8pm, but patients are keeping the staff there late on Tuesday night. In just the past two days, after seeing hundreds of patients, they say the 13 do have the strain a flu virus. The virus could potentially be the swine flu, but doctors there say it is not time to worry.
Dr. Zamir says no lower Valley clinics are supplying Tamiflu, a medicine used to treat the flu symptoms, but they are expected to get the drug in on Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. Some patients were taking precautions by wearing masks and doctors say if you do not have flu symptoms it is best to stay home and avoid doctor offices or public places where you might come into contact with those infected.
