LA JOYA - La Joya Police raised money for their department by selling off several vehicles seized in drug busts. This community fundraiser is well known, with more than one hundred people attending, and all trying to buy a confiscated car for cheap.
Completely clean from drugs, La Joya Police Auctions the cars off, in hopes of raising enough money for new equipment.
One buyer said she was happy to buy a car because she knows the money will go to good use.
"Yes, it's a good think, like with our money, they can do something better for the community," said Nelly Melina, Purchased Car.
All the cars are sold as is and buyers must pay for them immediately after they are named the highest bidder.
