Police say 53-year-old, Victor Mendoza, left the Carrizales-Rucker Detention Center in Olmito Friday afternoon. And approximately 24 hours later, he was found dead by a man who was cutting the grass near the Brownsville Animal Shelter on FM 511.
“At this point we don't know how he died. However, we don't suspect foul play was involved, but more tests are being conducted to find out what happened and caused his death.”
Police say there were no obvious signs of trauma, gun-shot or stab wounds on the body. Police are now waiting for the final autopsy results to be released.
