Two Harlingen infants are safe after police charged their mother with abandonment or endangering her children.
Police arrested and charged Antonia Martinez on Friday, although she never left her children alone. Officers say the 21 year-old mother did drink to the point of intoxication, then witnesses reported she dropped one child aggressively and grabbed another by the shirt. After police arrived, Child Protective Services picked up the children and released them to family members. A judge officially charged Martinez on Saturday and set her bond at $14,000 dollars.
