Dascham rolls as car slams into parked cruiser, sending officers flying.
Two Michigan police officers are recovering after being hit by a car on Interstate 275.
One officer's patrol car was pulled over on the southbound shoulder just after midnight when a second officer pulled behind him, got out and was standing on the passenger side of the first officer's patrol car, according to a release by the department.
A 2005 Pontiac Vibe being driven by a 24-year-old Dearborn Heights woman crashed into the first officer's patrol car, which caused the second officer who was standing outside to be thrown about 15 feet, police said.
Both officers suffered minor injuries and were treated and released from area hospitals.
The Pontiac Vibe driver and a 26-year-old passenger were not hurt.
The incident is being investigated by the Michigan State Police, who will decide whether any charges will be issued.
Police said the patrol cars had their emergency lights on.
