Soon cell phones, laptops and other mobile device users will be able to patch into free mobile TV broadcasts.
In late summer, new mobile DTV technology will begin broadcasting shows from local networks including on NBC. Technology backers say the nation's capital is the first to get the service because it has a lot of gadget savvy viewers who pay attention to local news.
Two dozen more cities are slated to begin mobile TV broadcasts by the end of the year.
