McAllen authorities came together on Wednesday morning to conduct a mass casualty drill at the McAllen Miller International airport.
Firefighters and police, along with the FBI and Customs, participated in the drill with students from South Texas College pretending to be the injured passengers from a crash site. The Federal Aviation Administration watched closely in order to grade the airport's emergency response plan. Officials say even though they have never had a catastrophe at the airport they want to make sure every department is ready.
The emergency response plan is tested every three years and the airport will receive it's final grade in a few weeks.
