Good samaritan saves life of Kentucky woman whose car drove off a highway overpass.
A woman was seriously injured when her car drove off an overpass and onto Interstate 275.
The woman's car went off the KY 16 overpass and crashed onto the interstate near Taylor Mill. The car landed on its top before catching fire.
Police said the car landed on its top, knocking Melissa Robbins of Independence unconscious.
Firefighters said a two passing drivers saw the fire and turned their cars around to help Robbins. The good Samaritans broke the car's window and pulled her out of the car.
"(They) saw the car on fire then they rushed over without thoughts of their own safety and helped her," Taylor Mill Officer Karen Spanyer said.
The Samaritans rendered aid until emergency crews arrived.

Rescuer Bryan Brulport said he was on his way to Northern Kentucky University when he saw the crash.
"I noticed a car on the other side of the highway, upside down," rescuer Brulport said.
He stopped and ran across several lanes of I-275 to reach the car.
"The first thing I asked was, 'Is everyone out? Is everyone OK?' They said, 'No, we can't get the doors open,'" Brulport said.
With smoke pluming and time ticking, Brulport punched one window out and realized the woman inside wasn't responding.
"So I stepped back and ended up kicking the passenger window out and climbed in the vehicle and tried to get her out," Brulport said.
Another man, off-duty paramedic Scott Williams, helped pull Robbins out of the vehicle to safety before the flames went through the vehicle.
"She had a cross necklace that was burnt into her skin," Brulport said.
Brulport is studying nursing and said he hopes to be an EMT. He was inspired to help others after his life was saved years ago by Southgate firefighters.
"God put me in the right place at the right time. I was lucky enough to act on instinct," Brulport said.
Police said Robbins was still not conscious when she was transported to University Hospital. Her condition was not known.
The crash shut down the highway for about an hour. It reopened just before 3:15 p.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
