Health officials in Hidalgo County say they are also taking precautionary measures in case this virus hit's the county.
Hidalgo County and the County Health Department want to make it crystal clear even though they are no cases reported yet, they are prepping as best as they can just in case reports are confirmed.
"There are no confirmed cases of swine flu in hidalgo county."
But as a precautionary measure the Hidalgo County Health Department has opened up an Emergency Pperation Center.
"We are coordinating with hospital and doctors, local health professionals, in the community we are in contact with our peers in mexico through the Mexican Consulate, working on information coming in locally."
The county says that facilities in the county are supplied with medication if needed to try to prevent the flu.
"We have a strategic stock pile of medication in the event we do have an outbreak, which right now is zero confirmed cases, not one."
The health department says if you do notice symptoms of the swine flu which include difficulty breathing and severe vomiting contact a specialist.
"These symptoms need to be addressed by a physician or hospital."
