The Electric Reliability Council of Texas is issuing a power watch for the expected cold weather in the Valley.
Magic Valley Electric Co-Op and other Valley utilities are asking residents to conserve energy by asking customers to reduce energy use during peak hours of 6 to 9 AM and 4 to 8 PM . During those hours unplug all appliances, don't use large appliances like ovens, washers and dryers, and minimize the use of electric lighting.
Magic Valley Electric says if they do go into rolling black outs, to please be patient and call your electric provider for more information.
