Driver Could Face Intoxication Manslaughter Charge

The woman who drove into a motorcyclist and his wife on South Padre Island will soon be facing a manslaughter charge.

Darla Lapeyre is charged with two counts of intoxication assault, but they may be bumped up to intoxication manslaughter now that the motorcyclist died on Tuesday afternoon. It will take up to a week to get back Lapeyre's toxicology report to determine just how intoxicated she was.
