A Valley school in the Broad Prize winning school district, continues its goal of improving reading skills for its young students.
These pre-kindergarten aged students from Victoria Heights Elementary in Brownsville are eager to hear stories from their favorite children's book and I was happy to read two of those books to them, from the "Jumping Monkeys" series.
Their reading coach Maria Garza says reading helps to improve vocabulary and word power and reading out loud helps to build a strong emotional bond between parents and children.
