I recommend home owners to get and post "No Trespass" signs. ( For law enforcement purposes) ; have a berrier ( a fence); have an early alarm system ( a loud barking dog). If so, post a "Beware of dog" sign. (For legal purposes) and post on all four corners. If you can get an alarm system that you can monitor on your smart phone if you have one. Or, just place an alarm sign some where visible. Cameras are good. Get burglar bars on windows and doors. And know your neighbors. It helps.
