Mark Barger takes a look at some of this season's most popular holiday themed smartphone apps.
With 50 million app downloads behind them, the Angry Birds are getting into the spirit of the season on iPhones, Blackberry and Android phones.
"It works like an advent calendar. Every day, you get a new level of Angry Birds. They have presents. It's a lot of fun if you haven't tried it before," explained Suzanne Kantra of techlicious.com
Kantra says the holiday apps can help keep young kids entertained, especially if they're using one of the Santa tracker apps available for just about every type of smart phone.
"It’s just sort of a fun way to just see where Christmas is coming globally. You can actually zoom in on the satellite maps and see the topography. It's a lot of fun for the kids,” Kantra said.
But the holiday fun's not limited to kids.
Adults can burn some virtual calories with a 99-cent iPhone app called Super Dance Elf Christmas With Friends.
"You just take a picture of their face and creates a little fun movie of them doing a dance," said Kantra.
Also getting the iPhone app treatment are Christmas cards.
They've gone green and virtual with X-mas frames.
Even if you're all business, the free iFinger app on iPhone helps you with wrapping gifts!
"It actually takes you through and tells you how big a sheet of wrapping paper you need and then steps you through how to wrap the present," Kantra explained.
Then again, if the season's getting to you just a bit, there's always Android's whack a Santa.
