A Minnesota county institutes a "clean hotel" policy, banning employees from staying at hotels that offer pornography.

Winona County is now the first in the nation to pass a "clean hotel" policy.

In a four to zero vote with one abstention, they've banned employees from staying at hotels that offer pay-per-view pornography.

For the board members, it was simply an ethical decision.

"The Public does not want to pay for employees staying in establishments that support this type of material," said Chuck Derry of the Gender Violence Institute.

Policy initiators hope it is a ripple effect in the nation.

The passing of this initiative should create little trouble, as 75-percent of Minnesota hotels are already porn-free.

The general manager of one hotel also happened to be a victim of domestic violence.

"It does make you feel exactly like an object. And it makes you feel that you're something that is owned and not a person of your own accord," Cindy Jensen, a hotel manager, said.

But she believes there is no link.

According to a Minnesota women's foundation study, one in three women are sexually and/or physically abused in the state of Minnesota.

Legislation with a similar impact has already passed the Minnesota state senate, but not the state house.
