Women freed, sex assault conviction reversed
San Antonio, TX — After spending nearly 15 years behind bars, three women in Texas have been freed.
The three, along with another woman, were convicted on charges they sexually molested two girls in the 90's.
They were teenagers when they went to prison. Their attorneys, as well as prosecutors, say they were convicted on evidence that wouldn't stand in court.
One of the girl's who accused the women in the attack has since recanted the allegations.
The mother of one of the women said she was grateful to see them released, "I thank God for the release of the girls."
The fourth woman convicted in the case was paroled in 2012 after serving 13 years behind bars.
