Women Charged with Aggravated Assault

Two women are behind bars for aggravated assault in Brownsville on Monday.

The first woman, Maria de los Angeles Perez, mother called police when the two began arguing. The mother told police her daughter arrived home under the influence of a drug and when they started arguing Perez pulled a knife and pointed it at her mother. When the mother called police Perez took off and officers caught up with her and charged her with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The second woman, Brittany Medina, was arrested when her boyfriend called police because the two began arguing why he wouldn't drive her home. When police arrived to the boyfriends apartment they found furniture broken, windows shattered and his tires flattened. They also found some of his belongings thrown outside the apartment. Fire crews had to bandage a cut Medina got from breaking glass and officers then arrested her with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief.
