Woman's ex-spouse arrested for criminal mischief and harassment
HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Harlingen police arrested a man on a criminal mischief charge after he admitted to his ex-common-law spouse of ransacking her apartment.
On Tuesday, July 22nd at around 7:30 a.m. police were called to the 1500 block of North 25th Street in reference to a burglary.
The victim informed the officer that she had returned home around 7:20 a.m. and discovered her apartment ransacked and several personal items damaged.
She stated to the officer that her ex-common-law spouse, Alexis Antonio Olivares, 20, had been texting and calling her threatening to go over to her residence. While the officer was taking down information the victim continued to receive unwanted and harassing phone calls from Olivares. During one of those calls Olivares admitted to the victim that he ransacked and damaged her apartment.
Later that same morning officers were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Washington Avenue in reference to a disturbance where witnesses identified Olivares being involved and police arrested him.
Olivares was charged with public intoxication, criminal mischief, harassment and handed a $17,000 bond.
