Woman, wanted for using counterfeit money, turns herself into police

Harlingen police have arrested a woman accused of paying with funny money at Stripes convenience stores around town.

The alleged crimes date back to September, during the first incident investigators say Maria Guadalupe Aguilar, 21, asked the clerk to break two fake $100 bills. In the second incident she allegedly bought cigarettes.

After her picture was released from surveillance footage, she turned herself in to authorities and has been charged with two counts of forgery.
