Woman arrested for striking motorcyclist, evading arrest and assault of a public servant

A Brownsville woman is arrested on assault charges after concerned citizens advised officers she struck a motorcyclist and attempted to flee the scene.

On Monday, July 21st several witnesses informed Brownsville police officers that motorcyclist had been struck by a vehicle driven by Christina Medrano Gonzalez, 31.

Witnesses stated that Gonzalez then fled the scene with the victim holding on to her car.

Officers were able to locate Gonzalez on the 2500 block of Southmost Blvd. and attempted to make a traffic stop, but Gonzalez drove her vehicle at the officers in an attempt to evade authorities.

Gonzalez was apprehended and taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault of a public servant and evading arrest with a motor vehicle, her bond is pending.
