Woman Arrested for Scamming Undocumented Immigrants
A San Juan woman, suspected of scamming undocumented immigrants, was arrested for stealing their money.
Yolanda Alvarado made undocumented immigrants believe that she had connections with local attorneys and that she could help them with their legal troubles. One family paid $7,000 dollars directly to her for her help. Alvarado was arraigned on Monday and charged with felony theft and given a $12,000 dollar bond. She was previously arrested last month for allegedly lying about a petition in order to gain enough signatures to oust San Juan city commissioners.
