"When they roll in we're really glad to see them," said Sunshine RV Resort manager Lon Huff.

That  cooler air is starting to trickle in, and so are those winter Texans--and they're coming from all over the United States and Canada.

"If you look at the US on a map and you take a line from South Texas and you build a funnel out of it, that corridor is where our people come from...and that would be Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York, Quebec, Ontario," said Huff.

"We love the Valley," said Winter Texan Marvin Isgrig. "The people in the Valley are so nice compared to Florida or over on the East Coast so we decided to stay. We're almost living full time here now."

And while Sunshine RV Resort may have had their best numbers last year, certain conditions in the Rio Grande Valley may determine how many come down this year.

Even though there might not be as many winter Texans in the Valley as there were last year, Sunshine RV resort is still expecting a decent turnout for 2013.

"Last year was really great, this year, if it's close we're happy," said Huff. "We all know that the Valley is down a little bit, we all know that the economy is a little bit confused. If you can keep your park as clean as you can, if you have the people have a good time, they're gonna come back and they're gonna bring their friends so that that's that bottom line."

...which explains why Huff's main concern is that his guests enjoy themselves.

"People don't come to a place like this to die, they come here to live," said Huff.
