Wildfire Destroys Dozens Of Homes
Crews work to contain blaze near Possum Kingdom, Texas.
A wildfire burning in northern Texas has charred more than 7,500 acres and destroyed more than two dozen homes.
Frustrated firefighters rushed to contain the flames near Possum Kingdom Lake Tuesday evening.
Volunteers from 32 nearby cities did battle, but the rugged terrain made battling the blaze a tough task.
Helicopters and planes from the forest service helped from above, but the flames and smoke just kept coming.
A trip down Highway 16 just east of Possum Kingdom Lake looks like a smokey war zone.
This is the same area where raging wildfire did damage in April, destroying over 150 homes over several days.
