White House Shuffle

Mid point of President Obama's term sees Emanuel's departure and other staff moves.

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said goodbye to Washington Friday.

He's leaving to run for mayor of Chicago.

President Obama and Emanuel, by all accounts, grew closer in the trenches during two years of political combat.

Another top White House adviser, Pete Rouse, will serve as Emanuel's replacement, at least temporarily.

The White House has made it clear that Rouse is an interim choice and President Obama is still looking for someone to permanently take the place of Emanuel.
