While students get a holiday, McAllen teachers are learning about apps on the iPad
McAllen, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — While students in McAllen ISD enjoyed the day off for the Martin Luther King Junior holiday, teachers were still on the clock.
The teachers at McAllen High spent the day learning more about iPads in the classroom.
This is just one of several training sessions that take place throughout the year.
Teachers are encouraged to use the iPads in their daily lessons.
With many students using iPads already in class, school administration wanted to brush up each educator on new apps available.
"I think it is just our job to get them better trained and that way they can see the power of what the iPad can actually do. So that is our goal today, to show them the different apps that are out there, the ease and the use of the iPad and the apps," said Principal Albert Canales, McAllen High School.
IPads are used in every area of learning at McAllen High, from math and science to music and gym.
