ADDITIONAL RAINFALL EXPECTED ACROSS DEEP SOUTH TEXAS AND THE LOWER RIO GRANDE VALLEY LATE TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY

AN UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT OVER CENTRAL
TEXAS IS EXPECTED TO INTERACT WITH RICH TROPICAL MOISTURE PROVIDED
BY THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANE MANUEL WILL CREATE A SITUATION
FAVORABLE FOR LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL LATE TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY.
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP ACROSS
PORTIONS OF DEEP SOUTH TEXAS AND THE LOWER RIO GRANDE VALLEY THIS
AFTERNOON AND WILL CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING BEFORE INCREASING IN
COVERAGE LATE TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY. IN ADDITION...AN AREA OF LOW
PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ALONG THE LOWER TEXAS COAST LATE
TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY WHICH WILL AID IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL ACROSS THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY THROUGH SATURDAY.

RAINFALL TOTALS THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT WILL RANGE FROM 1 TO 2
INCHES ACROSS STARR...HIDALGO...WILLACY AND CAMERON COUNTIES WHILE
THE NORTHERN COUNTIES OF ZAPATA...BROOKS...JIM HOGG AND KENEDY
WILL LIKELY SEE RAINFALL TOTALS RANGING FROM 2 TO 3 INCHES. SOME
AREAS MAY SEE LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT.

GROUND CONDITIONS REMAIN SATURATED ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA DUE TO
RECENT HEAVY RAINS. ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT MAY PRODUCE HEAVY
RAINFALL COULD PRODUCE LOCALIZED MINOR FLOODING OF LOW LYING ROADS
OR URBAN AREAS. WIDESPREAD FLASH FLOODING...WHICH COULD THREATEN
PROPERTY WITH UP TO 3 FEET OF STANDING WATER...IS NOT EXPECTED AT
THIS TIME.
