Thousands of people, including hundreds of firefighters from across the country, gathered on Thursday in Central Texas to remember the first responders killed in last week's fertilizer plant explosion.

A procession of firefighters led to the memorial service in Waco. People , including the President Obama and Governor Perry filled Baylor's Ferrell Center for a service honoring the fallen heroes.

Twelve flag draped caskets, marked with photos of each man killed, lined the area floor in front of the stage. One widow, Carmen Briggs, stated, "Usually he just ran out of the house without stopping as fast as he could, but he stopped that day. Turned around and picked Jamason up and said daddy loves you and I'll be right back, and he didn't come back."

President Obama stated, "And to be families and neighbors grappling with unbearable loss. We are here to say you are not alone, you are not forgotten."
