A Donna, TX businessman wants to donate his profits to victims of the deadly fire in West, TX.

But he's run into a roadblock.

Donna's Corn Maze holds a 5k and 10k run and bike race in the spring.  But this year, there are no racers. Soon after scheduling the race on May 11, two other area races jumped on the date.

Since all the profits go to West fire victims, owner John Billman can't offer racers the usual t-shirt and medal for running.

"That really hits close to home," Billman said. "The fertilizer application that they do, affects farmers and the farming industry, and that's what I've always done here at my farm. When that happened there in West, TX, I wanted to do some type of charity work that we can help these people out."

The race costs $20 to run or bike.  For more information, visit rgvevents.net.
